SEAALL Community Service Committee Project

The SEAALL Community Service Committee is pleased recommend that the members of SEAALL support The Nurturing Center at the 2011 annual SEAALL conference. The Nurturing Center is a therapeutic treatment center for child abuse and neglect, serving the South Carolina counties of Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Newberry and Kershaw. Their goals are to: (1) Provide comprehensive, family-focused services to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect; (2) Increase the community's awareness and response to child abuse and neglect; (3) Offer specialized staff training, curriculum and program consultations; and (4) Conduct research in the area of child maltreatment.

For additional information, please see their website: www.thenurturingcenter.org/.

We are hoping to offer several different assistance options for SEAALL members:

  1. Donation of books for the creation of a children's library at The Nurturing Center. You can access the list by going to Amazon, selecting the Wish List button in the upper right corner of the screen and, in the input box under “Find someone’s wish list,” entering the following email address: rkmaxwel@law.sc.edu
  2. Donation of funds to purchase a book cart to move the books between classrooms.
  3. Direct donation via the organization's online wish list: www.thenurturingcenter.org/index.php/donations/donation-wish-list

Additional information will be coming soon. Thank you for your support.
